Atlas of Science
Atlas of Science was started by scientists to promote the broad dissemination of scientific research. It provides the opportunity for scientists to write and publish a short and easily accessible summary (Layman summary) of their latest research. The summaries are be based on peer-reviewed articles.
American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS)
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) is the largest practice organization of American orthopaedic surgeons. A main function of the AAOS is the continued education of orthopaedic surgeons. Their website (www.aaos.com) is also very helpful for the education of patients. Dr. Incavo has been involved with the AAOS since completion of his training, serving on selected committees and presenting his research at the annual meetings.
American Association of Hip & Knee Surgeons (AAHKS)
The American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) is a subspecialty of orthopaedic surgeons specializing in hip and knee replacement surgeon. Like the AAOS, one of the primary purposes of this organization is the education and academic interaction of its members (website www.aahks.org). Dr. Incavo is one of its earliest members when this organization was formed in the early 1990s.
The Knee Society (www.kneesociety.org)
The Knee Society (www.kneesociety.org) is the most prestigious organization focusing on knee replacement surgery. The society limits its membership to approximately 100 knee surgeons in the United States and the world. Membership in this organization is by invitation only and its members include the most recognized world experts on knee replacement surgery. Dr. Incavo was inducted into the Knee Society in 2002 based on his extensive research and clinical expertise in the treatment of knee arthritis and knee replacement surgery. Goals of the Knee Society include:
- The advancement of knowledge of the knee joint and knee surgery
- Promotion of the exchange of knowledge concerning education, research and treatment of disorders of the knee
Hip Society (www.hipsoc.org)
The Hip Society is the leading orthopaedic organization dedicated to the study of hip disease. Membership is limited to approximately 100 members, primarily from the United States, but also from the entire world. Membership in this organization is by invitation only and its members include the most recognized world experts on hip replacement surgery. Goals of this society include:
- The advancement of knowledge of the hip joint and health and distress;
- Promotion of the exchange of knowledge concerning education, research and treatment of disorders of the hip

The Arthritis Foundation, Texas operates across the state to assist nearly 3.7 million people affected by the disease and provide current information for people with arthritis and their families.
